Thesis

In New York City, 1954, Seduction of the Innocent was written by Frederic Wertham. The book claimed that comics (a form of American literature or art) influenced the youth poorly. This led to hysteria over America and eventually the Comic Book Code, a set of rules that censored comics. Editor, Stan Lee from Timely Comics thought that this code was restrictive. He decided to make a change. He created the Fantastic Four, which changed comic books forever. The National Institution of Mental Health requested that Marvel make an Anti-Drug comic featuring Spider-Man. This led to the destruction of the Code in 2011.
